Warehouse Associate

Established in 1926, Mutual Trading Co., Inc. was originally a small co-op organization for centralized purchasing of basic import foods to service the needs of the early Japanese immigrant society in Southern California. We've grown nearly 100 years old now, and command a premiere position among Japanese foodservice suppliers, as well as fill a key role as "Culinary Ambassador" promoting Japanese foods worldwide.  

Since 2011, our affiliate, Yamasho Atlanta Inc. takes pride in providing a variety of restaurant items ranging from non-food to dry and frozen food products to our restaurant customers in its current location in Chamblee, GA. Location: Chamblee, GA 

Hours: Sun: 2PM - 11PM; Mon-Thu: 12PM - 9PM; 1hr lunch; OT may apply

Essential Job Functions

• Pick and assemble orders as indicated on the pick list
• Maintain high levels of customer satisfaction by providing accurate and timely assembling
• Support deliveries as a backup delivery driver
• Document, record, and complete driver log when making deliveries
• Stack and organize warehouse pallets
• Assist receiving with unloading, stocking, and inventory check in a timely manner
• Coordinate with salespersons to assemble urgent deliveries to customers
• Participate in the weekly warehouse meetings
• Provide logistics support for Company events and functions outside of normal working hours
• Coordinate semiannual inventory count on designated day, possibly on a weekend
• Other duties as required from manager
• Obligation to answer to all management as requested

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand for extended periods of time
• Ability to reach, bend, kneel, and lift up to 50 pounds frequently
• Ability to handle and move 50 pounds assisted frequently
• Ability to sit in a car for extended periods of time
• Working Conditions
  1. Noise Level: Loud while indoors
  2. Required to wear insulated freezer suit while in freezer
  3. Freezing temperatures between -10 and -28 degrees Fahrenheit  

Other Requirements

• Basic level English – Read/write/speak/listen
• Ability to work weekends, holidays, and afterhours as needed
• Must be able to drive a stand-up reach forklift and sit-down forklift
• Maintain a positive attitude
• Ability to work independently and as a team
• Ability to adapt to frequent changes in workload
• High School Diploma required
• 2 years of relevant experience preferred

Knowledge and Skills

• Basic mathematical knowledge – combining/converting measurements, counting inventory, weight, etc.
• Communication and interpersonal skills
• Knowledge of Japanese foods preferred
