Job Summary

We’re looking for mechanically inclined technicians who can hit the ground running. The ideal candidate has hands‑on experience with mechanical systems, is comfortable using a variety of tools, and takes pride in doing clean, precise work. You’ll be diagnosing, repairing, assembling, and maintaining marine equipment while helping us deliver the high‑quality service our customers expect.

This is NOT a position where a technician still need further training. We are looking for a seasoned, experienced technician who has a great record in the industry. Boomerang technicians need not apply. Further certification and training is available for both Mercury Marine and Suzuki Marine.

Responsibilities

• Perform repairs and maintenance using hand tools and power tools
• Assemble components using schematics, diagrams, and technical drawings
• Diagnose and repair outboard motors and stern‑drive systems
• Conduct routine inspections and preventative maintenance
• Troubleshoot mechanical issues and implement effective solutions
• Assist and collaborate with other technicians on complex repairs
• Maintain accurate service records and parts usage
• Perform detail‑oriented tasks such as engine rigging and electronics installation
• Provide professional, customer‑focused communication when needed

Experience & Qualifications

• Previous experience as a mechanic or technician is strongly preferred
• Familiarity with mechanical systems, assembly processes, and diagnostic tools
• Dealership or marine industry experience is a plus
• Must have mechanical experience — this role is not entry‑level
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Strong problem‑solving skills and attention to detail

We are seeking a seasoned, highly experienced Marine Technician with a strong, verifiable track record in the industry. This is not an entry‑level or apprentice position, and it is not a role for technicians who frequently move from shop to shop. We are looking for a professional who takes pride in their craft, delivers consistent results, and maintains a reputation for reliability and excellence. COMEBACK KINGS/QUEENS need not apply.

Mutiny Marine provides access to advanced Mercury Marine and Suzuki Marine certification and training, but candidates must already possess the skills, experience, and discipline required to perform at a high level from day one.
