Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Preschool Assistant to join our early childhood education team. The ideal candidate will support classroom activities, assist with lesson planning, and foster a nurturing environment that promotes the social, emotional, and cognitive development of young children. This role is essential in creating a positive learning atmosphere for preschoolers and supporting lead teachers in daily classroom operations.
Duties
- Assist with implementing age-appropriate lesson plans focusing on literacy, math, and overall curriculum development.
- Support classroom management and behavior management strategies to ensure a safe and engaging environment.
- Provide individualized attention to children, including toddlers and children with special needs such as autism or disabilities.
- Help facilitate activities that promote early childhood development, including Montessori or other educational approaches.
- Support children’s social skills and emotional growth through positive interactions and guidance.
- Assist with classroom organization, including preparing materials and maintaining cleanliness.
- Communicate effectively with children, parents, and staff to ensure a collaborative educational experience.
- Participate in ongoing training related to childcare, early childhood education, and working with children with diverse needs.
Requirements
- Prior experience working with children in daycare, preschool, or private school settings is preferred.
- Knowledge of childhood development principles, behavior management, and classroom management techniques.
- Experience with special education, working with children with autism or disabilities, and familiarity with curriculum development is advantageous.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work well with children, parents, and team members.
- Certification or background in early childhood education or related fields is a plus.
- Ability to engage children in educational activities such as literacy education, math, and toddler care.
