JOB PURPOSE:
The Quality Team Lead is responsible for coordinating and supporting the daily activities of the Quality Inspection team to ensure that all products meet established quality standards and customer requirements. This role provides guidance, training, and oversight to Quality Inspectors while assisting in inspection processes, testing procedures, and quality documentation.
The Quality Team Lead ensures that inspection processes are followed consistently, identifies quality issues, communicates findings to production leadership, and supports continuous improvement efforts within the manufacturing environment. This position works closely with the Quality Team Leader and production teams to maintain high product quality and operational efficiency.
The role builds upon the core inspection responsibilities such as monitoring production output, conducting visual and functional inspections, performing product testing, and maintaining quality documentation.
Team Leadership
- Provide daily guidance and support to Quality Inspectors.
- Assign and coordinate inspection and testing tasks across the team.
- Monitor team performance and ensure adherence to quality standards and inspection procedures.
- Assist with training, onboarding, and cross-training of Quality Inspectors.
- Promote teamwork, accountability, and a strong quality culture.
Quality Inspection & Testing
- Ensure inspections are conducted according to established Quality Assurance Inspection Control Plans and customer requirements.

- Oversee visual, in-process, and final inspections of products and components.
- Perform and verify product testing such as:
- Leak testing for dry suits and components
- Air retention testing for PFDs
- Measurement verification using digital and manual gauges
- Review inspection results to confirm compliance with company specifications and standards.
Quality Monitoring & Issue Resolution
- Identify defects, quality concerns, and non-conforming products.
- Communicate inspection findings with production supervisors and the Quality Team Leader.
- Assist in analyzing quality issues and recommend corrective actions or process improvements.
- Ensure defective products are properly documented and returned to the appropriate department.
Documentation & Systems
- Review and ensure completion of inspection records, testing reports, and quality documentation.
- Support data entry and reporting in QA spreadsheets and company ERP/MRP systems.
- Verify serial numbers, product traceability information, and test documentation.
- Maintain accurate records of inspections and product status.
Production Support
- Assist production teams to maintain quality standards during manufacturing.
- Support packing operations and final product verification as needed.
- Coordinate with production to address quality issues quickly and minimize disruption.
Safety & Workplace Standards
- Ensure compliance with company safety policies and procedures.
- Maintain a clean and organized workspace.
- Report hazards, injuries, or safety concerns immediately.
High School diploma or equivalent.
Speak, read and write English.
Experience: 1-3 Years of experience in Quality Assurance.
Bilingual in Spanish Preferred.

Knowledge and related quality control through education and/or experience.

Ability of manual dexterity to quickly move hands, hands together with arms, or two hands to grasp, manipulate, assemble objects, and/or turn product right side out.
Strong computer skills, including Excel, Microsoft Office, SharePoint, Access database, knowledge, and experience of an ERP system.
Ability to check others’ work for accuracy.
Ability to develop a climate of enthusiasm, teamwork, and cooperation among employees.

ORIENTATION PERIOD
The reasonable orientation period for a fully qualified candidate should be 6 months.
