Overview
We are seeking a motivated and friendly Cashier/Sales Associate to join our retail team. In this role, you will be the first point of contact for customers, providing exceptional service while efficiently handling transactions. Your ability to communicate effectively and promote products will contribute to a positive shopping experience and drive sales.
You'll mainly be working evening shift-closing. Usually 9 hour shifts.
Duties
- Operate the cash register and handle cash transactions accurately, ensuring proper cash handling procedures are followed.
- You will be required to close the store on your own most nights, so you need to be self-maintained and capable of closing the store register.
- Provide outstanding customer service by greeting customers, answering inquiries, and assisting with product selection.
- Conduct product demonstrations to showcase features and benefits, enhancing customer engagement.
- Upsell additional products and services to maximize sales opportunities.
- Maintain an organized and well-stocked sales floor by restocking shelves and ensuring merchandise is presented attractively.
- Collaborate with team members to achieve sales targets and maintain a positive work environment.
- Cleaning the store as told or as needed.
- Qualifications
- Previous experience in retail sales or customer service is preferred but not required.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to engage customers effectively.
- Basic math skills for accurate cash handling and transaction processing.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail. Weekends can be extremely busy, so you need to be able to handle the flow of customers/transactions while also being able to finish everything required of you, such as cleaning and stocking shelves.
- A proactive attitude towards upselling and promoting products is highly valued.
- Familiarity with cash register operations is a plus but training will be provided.
- Must be able to lift and move approximately 50lbs boxes.
