What are the responsibilities and job description for the Bus driver transportation position at Mustang Public Schools?
2023-2024 School Year
QUALIFICATIONS : Possess or be able to obtain a valid license to drive a school bus, which includes Class B CDL with Passenger, School Bus, and Air Brakes.
In addition, possess or obtain an Oklahoma SDE school bus driver Certification by attending the school bus driver training (if necessary);
Such additional health and age requirements as the board may require.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES :
- Obeys all traffic laws.
- Observe all mandatory safety regulations for school buses.
- Maintains discipline when students are on the bus.
- Reports undisciplined students to the building administrator.
- Keeps assigned bus clean.
- Keeps to assigned schedule.
- Checks the bus before each operation for mechanical defects.
- Notifies the proper authority in case of mechanical failure or lateness.
- Discharges students only at authorized stops.
- Exercises responsible leadership when on out-of-district school trips.
- Transports only authorized students.
- Reports all accidents to the Director and the Police, and completes required reports.
- Enforces regulations against smoking, chewing tobacco, eating, or drinking on the bus.
- Enforces bus riding regulations established by the Director or the state.
- Abides by all district policies and state and federal laws.
- Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS :
Ability to lift up to 20 pounds.
Ability to support and stabilize students with physical disabilities.
Ability to work in all weather conditions
