Maintenance Technician II

The Maintenance Technician II is responsible for performing skilled maintenance and repair of rolling stock and manufacturing equipment. The ideal candidate will have a well-rounded background in mechanical systems with a working knowledge of electrical maintenance. This role supports equipment reliability and uptime by diagnosing issues, performing repairs, and completing preventative maintenance tasks.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform maintenance and repairs on mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical systems across rolling stock and production equipment.
• Assist with troubleshooting equipment issues and executing corrective repairs to minimize downtime.
• Conduct preventative maintenance on a routine schedule, including lubrication, adjustments, part replacements, and inspections.
• Perform basic electrical tasks such as replacing sensors, wiring, fuses, switches, and motors as needed.
• Read and interpret maintenance manuals, blueprints, schematics, and work orders.
• Support equipment installations, upgrades, and relocations.
• Use appropriate diagnostic tools and hand/power tools to complete repairs safely and effectively.
• Maintain accurate documentation of maintenance activities, including repairs, parts usage, and equipment status.
• Adhere to all safety procedures and protocols, including Lockout/Tagout (LOTO).
• Collaborate with production and maintenance teams to prioritize and resolve issues efficiently.
• Provide occasional guidance to junior maintenance staff.

Requirements:

• High school diploma or GED required; vocational or technical training in industrial maintenance preferred.
• Minimum 2–4 years of industrial maintenance experience, including exposure to mechanical and electrical systems.
• Working knowledge of motors, gearboxes, bearings, hydraulic systems, and basic electrical circuits.
• Ability to read and interpret schematics, blueprints, and technical documentation.
• Familiarity with tools and equipment used in diagnostics and repair.
• Basic knowledge of safety and regulatory standards (e.g., OSHA, NFPA).
• Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
• Strong communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
• Ability to lift 50 lbs, bend, kneel, climb ladders, and work in various physical environments.
• Forklift certification or ability to become certified is preferred.

Work Environment:

• Exposure to loud noises, moving mechanical parts, and varying temperatures.
• Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) is required.
• Occasional overtime or weekend work may be required based on production needs.
• Able to work in hot and dusty conditions
