Job Summary:
The Maintenance Superintendent is responsible for overseeing all maintenance operations within the detention center, ensuring the facility remains safe, secure, and fully operational. This role supervises maintenance staff, manages repair and preventive maintenance programs, and ensures compliance with safety, security, and regulatory standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Plan, schedule, and supervise daily maintenance activities, including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and structural systems
Ensure all work complies with correctional facility security protocols and safety regulations
Conduct routine inspections and coordinate repairs to maintain facility integrity
Manage preventive maintenance programs to minimize equipment downtime
Supervise, train, and evaluate maintenance staff and contractors
Maintain inventory of tools, equipment, and supplies
Prepare reports and maintenance records
Respond to emergency maintenance issues as needed
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent (technical certification or degree preferred)
Experience in facility maintenance, with supervisory experience strongly preferred
Knowledge of building systems, safety standards, and security procedures
Strong leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills
Ability to work in a secure, high-responsibility environment
Work Environment:
This position operates within a secure detention facility and requires adherence to strict security procedures and the ability to respond to urgent maintenance situations at any time.
Pay: $3,700.00 per month
