The Public Health Education Supervisor, under general direction, leads the planning, implementation, and evaluation of health education and outreach initiatives for the Public Health Department. This position directs development of public health community educational programs and material. The Public Health Education Supervisor also supervises marketing and public communication efforts and serves as liaison to schools, media outlets, local organizations, community groups and various audiences to promote the department’s health initiatives.
The Public Health Education Supervisor establishes and maintains contact with referral resources, social agencies and the general public to coordinate and identify the needs of the community for public health educational programs. This employee performs other work related duties as assigned.1. Possess a Master's degree from an accredited college or university with an area of specialization or concentration in Public Health, Health Education, Health Administration, or Business Administration; AND
Have a minimum of three (3) years’ work experience in supervisor roles; AND
Have a minimum of three (3) years’ work experience in managing State and/or Federal Grant Programs.
2. Have a valid driver's license.PHYSICAL ACTIVITIES
An employee in this class performs generally sedentary work activity requiring the occasional lifting of objects weighing thirty-five (35) pounds or less.
ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS

EVALUATION CONTENT
The selected candidate must take a post-offer medical examination (including back screen and complete physical) and drug screening test given by a County appointed physician before the first day of employment. An offer of employment is contingent upon the results of the medical examination and drug screening test. Applicants for County employment may be subject to a post-offer criminal background check, depending on the nature and assignment of the position. When such check is conducted, an offer of employment is contingent upon the results of the criminal background check. Appointees must satisfactorily complete a probationary period before the appointment will be considered permanent.
