What are the responsibilities and job description for the Senior Fiscal Analyst position at Muskegon County, MI?
An employee in this class, under general direction of the Department Head or designee, performs a variety of budget, accounting and related duties to assist with the preparation and administration of the County’s operating and capital budgets and annual financial audit. An employee in this class prepares monthly and annual financial summaries reflecting expenditures, budget balances and other fiscal data for County departments. This employee coordinates and processes grant budgets; prepares and maintains complex reports and correspondence relating to departmental assignments, monitors the County budget for proper use of operating and capital budgets, assists in preparation and administration of adopted budgets, assists in month and year-end closing processes, identifies concerns/issues, and makes recommendations. Additionally, this employee represents the Director of Finance and County Administrator in departmental meetings; develops a depth of knowledge in key programmatic areas and performs other related duties as required.
Required Minimum Entrance Qualifications
Possess a Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in, Accounting, Finance or Business Administration or closely related field; AND
Have a minimum of four (4) years full-time work experience in budgeting or accounting, which includes considerable use of computer spreadsheet applications.

An employee in this class performs generally sedentary work activity requiring the occasional lifting of objects weighing thirty-five (35) pounds or less.
ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS
An employee in this class generally works in the Central Accounting office, although travel throughout the County may be required. This employee may be eligible for hybrid in-person/remote working arrangements based on the discretion of the department head.
