Grant Writer

Musicians at Play
Los Angeles, CA Part Time
POSTED ON 7/8/2026
AVAILABLE BEFORE 1/3/2027
Company Description Musicians at Play (MAP) is a dynamic community of music professionals partnering with Los Angeles-area schools to expand young people’s understanding of music and related career paths. The organization brings together composers, filmmakers, musicians, educators, and historians to deliver tuition-free programs that center marginalized youth and their communities across Southern California. Each season, MAP collaborates with school leaders, teachers, and families to design sequential workshops aligned with VAPA standards that culminate in live and virtual performances. Mentors provide individualized and small group coaching to help students prepare for auditions, rehearsals, and concerts. MAP is deeply committed to social justice, supporting students of color, English learners, and young people from low-income families through in-person and extensive virtual coaching, while nurturing cultural expression, creativity, and self-esteem through music.
Role Description The Grant Writer will play a key role in securing funding to support MAP’s educational and performance programs. This part-time, hybrid position is based in Los Angeles, CA, with a combination of on-site collaboration and remote work. The Grant Writer will collaborate with leadership, program staff, and finance to gather data, articulate outcomes, and ensure compliance with grant requirements and timelines. The role also involves tracking submissions, maintaining grant records, and contributing to fundraising strategies that sustain and grow MAP’s mission-driven work.
