Account Representative
Description
BMI is the nation's largest performing rights organization representing more than 1.4 million songwriters, composers, and music publishers with a repertoire spanning over 25 million works. As an Account Representative, you'll be at the front line of our mission: making sure the people who create music get paid for it, one licensee relationship at a time.
What you'll do
- Manage a dedicated caseload of licensees, serving as their primary point of contact via phone, email, chat, and text to ensure accounts stay current and in good standing
- Proactively reach out to existing customers to renew, update, or expand license agreements including identifying upsell opportunities on chain accounts
- Identify and resolve customer concerns quickly and professionally, partnering with teams across collections, accounting, sales, and operations
- Maintain accurate records and account activity using Salesforce CRM and our customer portal, keeping data clean and communications thorough
- Assist with license fee schedules, report forms, and other administrative functions that keep the department running smoothly
- Support verification and research functions as needed
What we're looking for
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent
- 1 year in customer service, sales, or collections
- Contact center experience a plus
- Salesforce or similar CRM experience
- Strong written and verbal communication
- Confident negotiator and problem-solver
- Comfortable managing competing priorities
- Fluent in Microsoft Office Suite
