What are the responsibilities and job description for the AMAZING MUSIC TEACHERS WANTED @ Music 1st position at Music 1st?
AMAZING MUSIC TEACHERS WANTED — JOIN OUR OLYMPIA TEAM!
We’re looking for exceptional music teachers to join our growing highly respected and sought after Olympia-area program!
We are currently looking for talented, committed teachers in:
PIANO
VOICE
DRUMS
BRASS
We’re looking for musicians who are not only excellent at what they do, but who genuinely love teaching and want to help students become strong, well-rounded musicians.
WE TAKE MUSIC SERIOUSLY. It's literally our name, Music 1st.
We believe great music education requires a strong musical foundation.
Our teachers need a high level of proficiency in the fundamentals of music, including:
Scales
Chords
Music theory
Technique
Music literacy
Strong sight-reading and music reading skills
And you need to be able to teach those skills effectively to students.
We aren't simply looking for people who can play an instrument. We’re looking for musicians who truly understand their craft and can help students develop the skills, confidence, and musicianship to become excellent musicians themselves.
If you cannot read music proficiently on your instrument, this position is not the right fit for you.
OUR AUDITION PROCESS IS SERIOUS.
We have high standards, and our audition process reflects that.
Not everyone passes. In fact, many don't.
We are looking for teachers who can demonstrate a genuinely high level of musical proficiency—hopefully mastery—in the areas they teach.
If you're an excellent musician, a strong reader, a committed educator, and someone who takes your craft seriously, we'd love to meet you.
THERE'S SIGNIFICANT OPPORTUNITY FOR THE RIGHT TEACHER.
We have a growing student base and, for the right person, there is an opportunity to take on a substantial roster very quickly.
In particular, a teacher who can teach both voice and piano and is available for a combination of weekday and weekend teaching may have the opportunity to assume a roster of 20 students.
That's not a promise for every applicant—it depends on qualifications, availability, student fit, and audition results—but the opportunity is very real.
If you're looking for more than just a handful of students and want to become part of a growing music program, we should talk.
Are you good enough?
We’d love to find out.
Apply today and audition for our Olympia team.
Music 1st means putting music first. We take music seriously. We believe great musicianship comes from knowing music deeply, developing strong fundamentals, practicing with purpose, and continually striving to become better. Our goal isn't simply to teach students to play an instrument. It's to develop musicians who know their craft, love their craft, and are committed to mastering it.
