Guest Scientist Program Manager
Inspire the next generation of science enthusiasts at the Museum of Science, Boston!

We are seeking a dynamic Guest Scientist Program Manager to lead the development, coordination, and presentation of exciting STEM programs for museum and community audiences. In this senior role, you'll manage relationships with guest scientists, oversee event schedules, and create resources to help partner scientists communicate effectively with the public. Collaborating with cross-divisional teams, you'll also play a key role in innovating new educational experiences that inspire diverse audiences and help shape the future of science education at the Museum.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead Educational Programs: Develop and present engaging, accessible STEM programs across museum, community, and online channels. Teach 1-2 days per week and create 2-3 new programs annually.
  • Manage Guest Scientist Events: Oversee the scheduling and training for 50 guest scientists per year, ensuring high-quality presentations for museum audiences.
  • Supervise Fellows: Hire, train, and mentor 3 full-time fellows, helping them develop skills in science communication and informal education.
  • Collaborate Across Teams: Work with Digital and Centers for Public Science Learning teams to manage workflows, develop content, and amplify educational initiatives.
  • Innovate and Create: Lead the design of new, fun, and culturally relevant learning experiences that attract new audiences and drive the Museum's strategic educational goals.

What You'll Bring:

  • Bachelor's degree in Science, Arts, or a related field
  • 7 years of experience in STEM fields or education
  • Proven ability to develop innovative, high-quality educational programs
  • Excellent customer service, communication, and program management skills
  • Experience working with external partners in the science and technology community

Bonus Skills:

  • Bilingual in English and Spanish
  • STEM content knowledge
  • Valid driver's license

Physical Requirements: Ability to lift and carry up to 25 lbs and occasionally push/pull up to 50 lbs. The role involves a mix of sitting, walking, standing, and routine physical tasks such as reaching, stooping, and kneeling.
