What are the responsibilities and job description for the Summer Science Camp Teacher Assistant position at Museum of Science and Industry (MOSI)?
MOSI's Summer Science Camps' goal is to have fun while inspiring and enhancing curious minds. Creativity, imagination, and hands-on learning are keys to MOSI's summer science camps. MOSI's summer camps offer weekly camps in a variety of areas from chemistry to robotics to chemistry to space. Our camps take place in classroom, laboratory, and outdoor settings. Responsibilities:
- Supervise extended care in the morning, afternoon and/or at lunchtime.
- Lead games and activities during extended care time/lunch time.
- Assist with overall camp operations and instructors with hands-on science and technology activities.
- Have a friendly, can-do attitude.
- Participate in mandatory training and orientation.
- Work collaboratively with MOSI staff and outside experts.
- Greet parents and students in a friendly and energetic manner.

- Morning shift is from 7am - 2pm; Afternoon Shift is from 11am - 6pm
- Monday through Friday weekday availability throughout the summer
- Mature, dependable and flexible with duties and schedule
- Experience in working with children
- Science and technology background or interest
- First Aid, CPR and Lifeguard training preferred
- Must be at least 18 years old
- Must be approved to work with children (clear Level II Background Screening through Department of Children & Families required).
- Weekly programs from May 28 - August 9, 2024
- Mandatory Orientation on May 11, 2024
