Development Coordinator
Full-time with benefits | Salary range: $52,000 – $58,000
The Development Coordinator plays a central role in advancing the museum’s mission by serving as the operational backbone of the development team, ensuring that fundraising activities are supported by accurate data and personalized outreach, in turn supporting the strategies and efforts of the Director of Development.
The Development Coordinator manages the organization’s donor database, develops segmentation and reporting systems, and supports donor cultivation strategies that help move supporters along the giving pipeline.
This role helps the museum reach the right audiences, deepen donor engagement, and maximize the potential of both philanthropic gifts and institutional funding. This position reports to and works closely with the Director of Development.
Core responsibilities
- Identifying logistical pathways that help move donors toward deeper engagement and higher levels of support
- Leading the ongoing optimization of the museum’s CRM system throughout the museum
- Tracking donor interactions, giving history, and engagement opportunities to support strategic cultivation and retention
- Coordinating stewardship efforts such as donor acknowledgments, recognition, personalized communications, and engagement activities that strengthen long-term relationships
- Coordinating logistics for development campaigns, including direct mail, digital outreach, and donor communications
- Creating and maintaining reporting dashboards and generate regular reports
Desired qualifications and skills
- Experience managing databases or CRM systems and maintaining accurate records
- Strong writing and research skills
- Ability to analyze engagement data and translate insights into outreach strategies
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines
- Experience with nonprofit development, community engagement, fundraising, or donor relations
- Genuine enthusiasm for the museum’s mission and the role of cultural institutions in the community
- Bachelor’s degree
Compensation and schedule
- Starting salary: $52,000 – $58,000
- Full-time position. Expectation is 40 hours/week within M-F 9-6 timeframe, with occasional evening and weekend work.
