Role Description
This is a part-time, contracted, on-site Art Handler role based in Daytona Beach, FL. The Art Handler will be responsible for safely moving and packing art and artifacts, photographing objects, and updating tracking locations of objects. Collaboration with the curatorial team and adherence to best practices for collection care will be essential components of the role.
Qualifications
- Strong Art Handling experience, with attention to safety and detail
- Experience in photographing objects for condition reports
- Experience using collections management software and/or barcode tracking a plus
- Effective Communication skills to work collaboratively with curators, team members, and clients
- Additional expertise in conservation or collection management is a plus
- Physical ability to stand for long periods of time, and lift and handle heavy objects, as required by the role
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Museum Studies, History or related required; additional education in art, museum studies, art handling or related fields is a plus
