MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education – Incumbent must be a graduate of an accredited college/university of pharmacy.
Experience – None Required
Licenses & Certification – Incumbent is required to possess a current Oklahoma State Board of Pharmacy license.
Knowledge & Skills –
Knowledge of daily pharmacy operations, procurement of drugs, ability to interpret, monitor, and enforce standards for pharmacy principles and practices.
Must be in good standing with the State Board of Pharmacy of the State in which he or she is licensed.
Ability to apply professional pharmacy principles and practices to outpatient and/or inpatient pharmacy settings.
Ability to supervise pharmacy technicians.
Ability to communicate courteously and effectively with executive-level staff, health care professionals as well as the public, both orally and in writing.
JOB SUMMARY
The purpose of the position is to provide medication/pharmacy services to the patients and staff within a hospital or outpatient clinic pharmacy within the Muscogee (Creek) Nation Department of Health (MCNDH). This is an exempt position as applicable to the provisions of the FLSA.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
Work is in an environment, which may bring incumbent in personal contact with infectious communicable diseases, potentially hazardous chemical and biohazardous materials. Must be aware of all risks involved and be willing to take precautions as requested and required.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
The works involves standing for long periods and working about the work unit. Work also requires regular and recurring bending, lifting, stooping, and stretching.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Satisfactory job performance will be determined by successful execution of the following:
Assures appropriateness of Drug Therapy.
Verify that patients understand their medications and appropriate outcomes of their drug therapy.
Provide drug information, drug therapy consultation, and staff education relating to drug therapy
Provide health promotion and disease prevention activities relating to drug use and preventive drug therapy
Effectively supervises pharmacy support staff in filling of all medication orders.
Maintains a work system, which provides for accuracy of documentation of all pharmacy actions into the patient medical record.
Regular attendance is required.
Performs other duties as required.
