Muscle Car Restorations, Inc. (MCR) is seeking to hire an experienced full-time technician to work in our Body and Paint department. The ideal candidate will have extensive hands-on experience in automotive body and paint along with a love of classic automobiles.
MCR is a high-end restoration shop performing full custom restorations and service work on a wide range of classic American muscle cars from Chargers and Cudas, Camaros, and Mustangs just to name a few. Muscle Car Restorations, Inc. (MCR) has been in the business of restoring high-end vehicles for over 30 years. Our restorations have won top honors at car shows across the country and have appeared on the covers of many popular magazines including Hot Rod, Car Craft, Mopar Muscle, and many others. We are one of the largest and most respected restoration companies in the United States.
Primary Responsibilities:
· Full and partial vehicle disassembly and assembly.
· Minor metal fit and finish work include installing and aligning panels, doors, and fenders to achieve a flowing car body with even gaps.
· Full body surface sanding and spot medial blasting followed by epoxy priming.
· Full body surface filler and sandable primer applications followed by both powered and manual block sanding entire panels/vehicle to achieve near perfect shape and gaps.
· Entire body and trim mock-up and inspection followed by final sanding, seam sealing, cleaning, masking, and installation onto painting rotisserie and panel carts.
· Complete vehicle painting by applications of sealers, basecoats and clear coats to entire vehicle inside and out.
· Wet sand and buff entire exterior as required.
· Assist with final assembly, panel and trim installation.
Required skills and Knowledge:
· Full vehicle body and paint restoration experience required.
- 10 years of job-related experience in automotive refinish and repair, restoration, or collision industry. ASE certification or other professional 2-year degree in automotive finishes, restorations, or related field.
- PPG paint products knowledge, highly desired.
- Extensive knowledge of automotive bodywork and trim assembly.
- Auto body fabrication and repair, highly desirable.
· Basic computer skills, Windows, Microsoft Office, etc.
· Positive attitude, excellent organization skills, problem solving and efficiency of repair process.
· Must show self-initiative and attention to detail.
Education, Qualifications, Requirements:
· Education: 2–4-year Automotive Technical Degree or related preferred. High School Diploma/GED Equivalent required.
· Driver license: Class D – Non-commercial driver license with a clean driving record required.
· Must be able to lift 25 lbs. continuously.
· Must be willing, able, and medically cleared to wear a respirator.
· Employee to supply a complete set of automotive refinishing hand tools.
Compensation/Benefits:
· Duration/Hours: Full-Time Position, 40 Hours/week minimum. Four-and-a-half-day work week.
