We are looking for a Classic Car Parts Assembly Manager to help keep high-end restoration projects moving through the shop.
This is a great next step for a senior technician who knows classic cars, understands how parts fit together, and wants to move into a stronger leadership role without leaving the hands-on side of the work.
This person will organize, prep, stage, and build parts kits and select subassemblies before they go to the assembly team. The goal is simple: when a car is ready for assembly, the parts, hardware, painted pieces, vendor items, and notes are ready too.
What You’ll Do
- Build and organize vehicle-specific parts kits for upcoming assembly work.
- Prep and assemble small subassemblies before they go to the car.
- Organize parts by how the car will be built: doors, dash, suspension, brakes, trim, glass, bumpers, weatherstrip, interior, painted parts, and final assembly.
- Track missing parts, vendor items, painted pieces, hardware, clips, fasteners, seals, and small parts.
- Inspect incoming and vendor-returned parts for quality, fit, finish, and completeness.
- Work with Assembly, Parts, Body/Paint, Metal, Upholstery, vendors, and management.
- Keep parts labeled, protected, photographed, and organized by vehicle.
- Use shop software, QR labels, photos, and kit records to keep status clear.
- Help prevent technicians from losing time searching for parts or hardware.
- Keep the parts staging and kitting area clean, accurate, and easy to use.
What We’re Looking For
- Classic car restoration experience.
- ASE certification desired, not required.
- Management, lead, foreman, or senior technician experience.
- Strong hands-on mechanical ability.
- Good understanding of vehicle systems and assembly sequence.
- Ability to read assembly manuals, parts diagrams, and restoration references.
- Strong organization and follow-through.
- Comfortable working with technicians, managers, vendors, and ownership.
- Good eye for detail, especially with painted, restored, original, and fragile parts.
- Experience with American classics, muscle cars, or restomods preferred.
