The division of Pediatric Pulmonology provides diagnosis and treatment of a wide variety of respiratory illnesses.

Job Description

The Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC) is looking for a board certified or eligible Pediatric Pulmonologist with strong clinical and teaching skills to join our Division of Pulmonology within the Department of Pediatrics. The division of Pediatric Pulmonology provides diagnosis and treatment of a wide variety of respiratory illnesses. Additionally, the clinical and research faculty and collaborators have strong research interests in cystic fibrosis (CF), surfactant deficiencies, asthma and airway inflammation and participate actively in laboratory-based research projects with NIH and other sources of funding.

(Continuous) Ability to see and recognize objects at a distance. (Continuous) Ability to match or discriminate between colors. (Continuous) Ability to determine distance/relationship between objects; depth perception. (Continuous) Good peripheral vision capabilities. (Continuous) Ability to maintain hearing acuity, with correction. (Continuous) Ability to hear and understand whispered conversations at a distance of 3 feet. Must be able to maintain bi-lateral hand movement skills. (Continuous) Ability to perform gross motor functions with frequent fine motor movements. (Continuous) Ability to be qualified physically (by medical personnel) for respirator use, initially and annually. Ability to maintain a valid driver’s license. Computer literacy. Ability to work rotating shifts. Ability to work overtime as required. Ability to learn and use new processes, tools and equipment as required.
