Under general supervision, the Registered Nurse provides safe, compassionate, patient- and family-centered care using the nursing process:

What You'll Do

In This Role, You Will
- Provide comprehensive nursing care that addresses the physical, emotional, spiritual, cultural, religious, and environmental needs of patients and families.
- Perform assessments, develop nursing diagnoses, identify expected outcomes, plan and implement interventions, coordinate care, provide health education and promotion, and evaluate patient outcomes.
- Deliver age- and developmentally appropriate care consistent with nursing standards, evidence-based practice, and MUSC policies.
- Direct and lead assigned team members while collaborating effectively with physicians and multidisciplinary team members.
- Identify clinical priorities and take initiative to improve patient outcomes.
- Coordinate the effective and efficient delivery of patient care through the application of care management principles.
- Maintain a safe, therapeutic, and healing environment by protecting patient privacy and demonstrating responsive, respectful, accepting, and professional behavior.
- Demonstrate strong clinical judgment, critical thinking, autonomy, and accountability in daily practice.
- Actively participate in the professional practice model, including shared governance, peer review, professional development, and leadership initiatives.
- Promote a healthy work environment through effective communication, teamwork, collaboration, and respect.
- Pursue ongoing professional growth and clinical excellence.

Additional Job Description
Education
- Graduate from an accredited school of nursing.
- Current South Carolina or compact-state Registered Nurse (RN) license required.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) required.
