Job Description
The Nuclear Medicine/PET Technologist assists physicians in the performance of diagnostic and / or therapeutic procedures by preparing the patient and operating the nuclear medicine equipment in order to obtain diagnostic scans. Administers radiopharmaceuticals and medications to obtain diagnostic images and/or provides therapy as ordered by physician. Performs quality care to pediatric through adult patients using professional and ethical judgment along with critical thinking in performing duties.
Additional Job Description
Education: Graduate of an ARRT or NMTCB recognized Nuclear Medicine Program required.
Experience: 0-2 years of Nuclear Medicine/PET experience required, 1 year preferred.

Required Registration/Certification
- Licensure from the South Carolina Radiation Quality Standards Association is required.
- Must be a Certified Nuclear Medicine Technologist (CNMT) from the NMTCB or Registered Technologist (RT (N)) from ARRT OR registry eligible with a B.S. or B.A. preferred. If registry eligible, must obtain certification within 12 months.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) required, either a certification from an American Heart Association (AHA) BLS for Healthcare Providers (or AHA recognized equivalent) or an American Red Cross CPR/AED for Professional Rescuer and Healthcare Provider
