Shipping Department - Packager
Position Summary
The Packager (Shipping) understands all aspects of shipping processes to ensure efficient, accurate, and safe packaging and storage of inventory. This position supports daily operations in packaging, labeling, scanning, and material movement while contributing to continuous improvement and adherence to quality and safety standards.

This role serves as a foundation for growth into advanced shipping and logistics roles, such as Shipping Specialist, Shipping Coordinator, or Warehouse Supervisor. Employees demonstrating strong technical, organizational, and leadership skills may also pursue opportunities in operations and supply chain management.
Key Responsibilities
- Follow all safety requirements, environmental guidelines, and company policies.
- Maintain proficiency in the Mursix Corporation Operating System (PLEX).
- Accurately set up and operate weigh-count scales to package goods with 100% accuracy.
- Read and follow packaging instructions in PLEX.
- Use handheld scanners with PLEX to manage storage, movement, location, merging, splitting, and building of master units.
- Support inventory control practices, including cycle counts and physical inventories.
- Assist with shipping activities such as unloading trucks, delivering goods/materials, and staging shipments.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area following 5S standards.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the department.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Prior experience in a shipping or warehouse environment is preferred.
- Certification or training in shipping/warehouse operations is a plus.
- Demonstrated strong math skills and computer literacy.
- Experience with ERP systems (PLEX preferred).
- Fork Truck and Reach Truck operation experience beneficial.
Working Environment
- Fast-paced industrial shipping and warehouse setting.
- Frequent standing, walking, bending, lifting, and handling of materials.
- Regular use of handheld scanners, scales, forklifts, and shipping tools.
- Variable noise levels depending on activity.
- Personal protective equipment (PPE) required.
- Work area is maintained according to 5S and safety standards.
Schedule:
- On-Site
- Monday to Friday (Potential for overtime or Saturdays) 6AM-4:30PM
Job Type: Full-time
