This position is responsible for designing and administering the academic components of the Talent Search Program and assists with the management, administration, and implementation of the Talent Search Program.

- Recruit, identify, and select student participants to meet project objectives. This includes program presentations, student and parent orientations, and application reviews.
- Interface directly with students to deliver services to meet the project’s participants’ needs. Attend student programming events and collect student feedback used to inform future programming.
- Provide direct support to the Director to assist with meeting all project objectives, including (but not limited to) staffing; financial management operations; development of curriculum, lectures, workshops, and other educational materials specific to academic programs; and academic advising.
- Coordinate, implement, and monitor all required and permissible services, interventions, and activities administered through the Talent Search project, including tutorial services, testing prep, admissions and financial aid advising, academic and career advising, financial literacy, 21st century skills, and STEM initiatives.
- Conduct quarterly advising checks and refer students to tutoring and other additional services as needed
- Develop the academic curriculum in alignment with project objectives, which includes analyzing and evaluations programming using professional knowledge and experience. Responsible for making changes to ensure effectiveness in meeting states objectives and learning outcomes.
- Coordinate senior services which include updating educational plans, advising students and families, and developing programming to support high school graduation and successful entrance to postsecondary education.
- Create and/or edit correspondence, reports, presentations, and promotional materials for the Talent Search program as assigned by the Project Director.
- Measure and evaluate effectiveness of student programs against project outcomes.
- Maintaining a participation workload of approximately 250 active participants; maintain a waiting list of approximately 25 students to address student attrition.
- Coordinate on-and-off campus visits with program participants.
- Track and maintain travel expenditures for the travel expenditures for the Talent Search Program.
- Assist with hiring and training part-time staff, including student workers and summer residential staff. Provide supervision as required by Project Director.
- Maintain professional development standards.
- Maintain program files and participant records in order to measure and document participant progress and program effectiveness, and compliance with USDOE guidelines.
- Assist the Director with the completion of the Department of Education Annual Performance Report. Work with the Director to formulate and implement policies and procedures, collect and assess data, and manage participant records.
- Assist with developing, planning, and coordinating academic and enrichment activities.
- Collaborate with colleagues in TRiO and other departments to promote awareness and involvement with Talent Search recruitment and programming.
- Collaborate with community partners and target school(s) personnel to organize and lead planning to promote program awareness and attendance.
- Run campus/local errands to support the work of the Talent Search project.
- This position will work with Christian County Schools.
- Other duties as assigned.
