Part- Time Forklift Operator

Job Description

A mission-driven nonprofit is seeking a Warehouse Associate to support daily food distribution operations, including stocking, picking, packing, and preparing deliveries for food pantries and community food fairs. The ideal candidate is a dependable, safety-focused team player with strong attention to detail and warehouse experience. As a key member of the operations team, the new hire will help ensure efficient, accurate distribution of food while maintaining a clean, organized, and mission-aligned environment.

Salary: $18/hr

Location: Houston, TX 77020

Type of Position: Temp-to-Hire

Hours: Monday–Friday, 6:00am–3:00pm & Occasional Saturdays for community events (30-35 hours /week)

Responsibilities

• Stock, pick, and pack food items for daily distribution routes.
• Load and unload trucks manually or using pallet jacks/forklifts.
• Prepare and stage materials for food pantries, food fairs, and mobile distributions.
• Support off-site community events, food fairs, and special projects as needed.
• Maintain clean, safe, and organized warehouse and storage areas.
• Receive, sort, and rotate inventory following food safety and handling procedures.
• Operate forklifts and other warehouse equipment (certification required).
• Collaborate with warehouse team members to meet daily production goals.
  
  

Requirements

• 1 year of warehouse, logistics, or industrial experience
• Forklift certification required (sit-down or stand-up)
• Ability to lift 50 lbs. repeatedly and work in varying temperatures
• Strong teamwork, communication, and reliability
• Ability to pass a Nationwide Criminal Background Check
• Willingness to work occasional weekends for community distributions
• Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus
