A leading manufacturing company is seeking a Controller to lead accounting operations and oversee financial reporting and controls. The ideal candidate is a hands-on finance leader with strong accounting expertise and experience in a manufacturing environment. Working under the direction of the President and Global CFO, the new leader will drive financial performance and accuracy by managing reporting, cost accounting, and budgeting processes while ensuring compliance and supporting strategic decision-making.

Responsibilities:
- Provide the cost accounting expertise for the manufacturing operations. Ensure appropriate internal controls are in place and support effective and efficient annual fiscal audits.
- Work closely with manufacturing operations to ensure accurate and timely capture of all production costs and effective analysis of production variances.
- Develop, monitor, and analyze manufacturing overhead allocation and burden rates to ensure appropriateness.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial package. Review and distribute financial reports to President and Global CFO.
- Track expenses and revenues versus budget and reforecast and analyze fluctuations while recommending actions/interventions.
- Responsible for overseeing accounts payable and accounts receivable processing.
- Ownership of the inventory sub-ledger.
- Daily management of the company’s bank accounts, and coordinate cash flow with Global CFO.
- Prepare annual financial information for external auditors. Liaison for all annual audits and tax preparation from CPA Firm.
- Collaborate with HR Director in the processing of Payroll.
- Coordinate accounting documentation requirements with suppliers, brokers, vessels, etc.
- Determine cost of operations by establishing standard costs and collecting operational data.
- Provide financial and analytical support for incentive compensation management, semi-annual incentive compensation payments.
- Ownership of monthly general ledger accounting and reconciliation.
- Increase productivity by developing automated accounting applications, coordinating information requirements.
- Stay up to date on new regulations and current events regarding financial management. Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal government requirements.
- Negotiate best prices with outside vendors, brokers, bankers, and insurance companies.
- Review weekly vendor check payments with President.
- Review weekly past due receivables for timely collection with accounting team.
- Constant networking, strategic planning and collaborating across the organization.
- Process all work to meet metrics/KPIs.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
- Identify and propose best practices and improvement to organization, management, and Accounting Department.
- Oversee the operations and personnel management of the Accounting Department, which include cash management, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and bank reconciliations.
- Oversee training programs and identifies training needs with direct reports.
Requirements:
- Four-year bachelor's degree in accounting required
- 7 years or more of related Controller experience required. Manufacturing experience required.
- Certified Public Accountant is a plus
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Excellent organizational skills
- Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Work, Outlook)
- Proficient in Intuit QuickBooks
- Strong judgment and decision making
- Comfortability with travel
