What are the responsibilities and job description for the Litigation Paralegal position at Murray Law Group?
Litigation Paralegal
Insurance & Construction Litigation | Two openings | Full-time, on-site Tampa
We are hiring two litigation paralegals at Murray Law Group. Both will work directly under our senior litigation paralegal — a 25-year veteran of the firm who will personally train, mentor, and support whoever steps into these seats. A significant portion of our team has worked together for more than 15 years, and we are building these positions to grow with us.
If you are a paralegal who wants more than a file to babysit — and you are looking for a firm where your thinking matters, where mentorship is real, and where modern tools and AI are part of how the work gets done — we want to hear from you.
About the firm
Murray Law Group represents homeowners, businesses, condominium associations, and policyholders across Florida in first-party property insurance disputes, construction defect litigation, and property damage claims. The work is meaningful — real people, real damage, real consequences — and our clients trust us because we do it right.
What you will be doing
You will help manage litigation files from intake through resolution, with as much autonomy as your experience supports. Day-to-day responsibilities include:
· Drafting and preparing pleadings, discovery, subpoenas, notices, and correspondence
· Managing case deadlines, calendars, and timelines — proactively, not reactively
· Coordinating depositions, hearings, mediations, Examinations Under Oath, and trial preparation
· Organizing exhibits, claim files, document productions, and damage summaries
· E-filing in Florida state and federal courts
· Maintaining professional communication with clients, experts, opposing counsel, and court staff
· Supporting attorneys with case strategy and litigation logistics
What we are looking for
· 3 to 7 years of litigation paralegal experience
· First-party property insurance, insurance defense, or construction defect experience preferred — but not required if you bring the right mindset
· Florida state court procedure and e-filing experience preferred
· Relentless attention to detail and strong organization
· Initiative — you don't wait to be told; you see what needs to happen and you move
· A 'why?' mindset — you ask questions and learn the reasoning, not just the steps
· Comfortable with technology and open to AI-assisted drafting and research tools
· Strong written and verbal communication
· Team-oriented; you collaborate well and own your work
Experience and potential
We hire on potential as much as on resume. If you are currently at a firm where you have been told what to do rather than bring your own thinking — and you know you are capable of more — that is the kind of candidate we are specifically interested in.
What you can expect from us
You will work directly with a senior paralegal who has spent 25 years building the playbook you will be learning. You will have a voice — we value process thinking and we listen when team members spot a better way. We are investing in modern legal technology, including AI-assisted workflows and a custom case management integration currently in development, and we want paralegals who are ready to use those tools rather than fight them.
