Farmers Marketeer

Murray Family Farms is looking for more marketeers for our 2026 season!

Working farmers markets is one of the most rewarding jobs at the farm!

Murray Family Farms attends farmers markets around Bakersfield, Tehachapi, and all over Los Angeles County.

This position can be great for people looking to work as many hours as possible, or just weekends.

What does a typical farmers market day look like?

Trained farmer’s market employees meet at our farm in the early morning where we will have a van packed up with fruit, tables, canopies, sampling supplies, and everything else you will need to set up a stand at a farmers market. You will always be using a company vehicle for markets and will not need to use your own. You will be attending farmers markets as a representative of Murray Family Farms, promoting and selling our produce.

Marketeers are responsible for driving to the market, setting up the display, selling the fruit, packing back down the display, and then returning the vehicle back to the farm. There is daily paperwork to be filled out regarding the market you attended for the day.

The vehicle is loaded for the marketeer and is unloaded after it is dropped back off.

Because of this job description, all applicants must have a valid California drivers license. they must be comfortable talking to people and selling out fruit. They must be comfortable lifting 30lbs to help with setting up and taking down the booth.

Because some of our farmers markets are located in Los Angeles, some days will be long and have overtime. Due to the overtime, all employees in this role must be over the age of 18, or not require an age related work permit to work in the state of California.

We attend farmers markets all week long so we are accepting all applicants- but we have lots more weekend farmers markets. This could be a great position for people that are only available on weekends.

*Our busiest market day is Sunday, so Sunday work availability is necessary for all applicants.*

We have lots of spots open and our season will be starting soon, so we have interview spots available immediately.

Familiarity with Farmers Markets and customer service or sales experience are ideal!

While we provide the farmers market vehicle, you must begin your shift at our farm location, so transportation to our location is necessary. There is no public transportation to our location.

Farmers marketeers must have a clean driving record and be comfortable driving our vehicles to the markets. Marketeers must have a valid California Driver License. No special driver license is required. Market vehicles are typically standard vans and trucks.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $17.87 per hour

Expected hours: 24 – 40 per week
