What are the responsibilities and job description for the Rental Coordinator position at Murphy Tractor & Equipment?
Summary
The Rental Coordinator is responsible for checking-in and checking-out rental equipment, preparing equipment for rentals and demos, ordering replacement parts, taking inventory, meeting customer needs, and performing other duties as assigned by the Branch Manager.
Rental Equipment: Construction equipment used for/in earthmoving, underground construction, quarrying, crushing, paving & recycling.
Essential Functions
Administrative
- Maintain cleanliness of store.
- Maintain and coordinate facility maintenance by scheduling repairs with approval of manager.
Sales
- Establish and maintain relationships with potential and existing customers to enhance the potential to rent new and used equipment.
- Work with potential and existing customers to understand their needs, wants, concerns, satisfactions and expectations.
- Track the location and coordinate movement of machines for rental and sales needs.
- Formulate rental quotes based on customer needs.
- Review periodical publications for bids and forward to sales managers.
- Prepare incoming and outgoing equipment for rentals and demos.
- Complete demo sheet with required information and communicate with administrative staff.
- Order replacement parts for rental equipment.
- Communicate availability of rental equipment and what repairs need to be completed to management.
Parts
- Maintain accurate physical inventory.
- Check in and put away whole goods inventory.
- Ship whole goods inventory.
- Deliver and pickup parts as needed.
Service
- Perform minor repairs (touch up body work, grease and fueling).
Other Functions
- Assist with other duties assigned and directed by corporate management within the frame work of Murphy Tractor and Equipment Company, Inc.’s objectives.

Physical Requirements and Work Schedule
Employee must be able to do occasional lifting of up to 50 lbs. Employee must be able to stoop, climb, move and hold arms and hands in small areas, utilizing tools on a regular basis.
Education/Work Experience
High school diploma or GED required. Two year degree from a college or school or at least three years related experience and/or training preferred.
