Summary

The Sales Coordinator is responsible for providing support to branch and sales personnel regarding machine orders for new and used equipment, availability, information and delivery for all makes represented and perform other duties as directed by the Branch Manager.


Essential Functions

  • Complete rental contracts and send to customers.
  • Start rent settlements.
  • Obtain price quotes and coordinate attachment ordering.
  • Obtain quotes and arrange trucking for rentals and sold units.
  • Provide sales personnel with product specifications and availability information needed to prepare quotes for customer sales and rentals.
  • Answer sales personnel support requests for deals.
  • Complete attachment change orders.
  • Handle shipping and receiving of all whole goods for stock and sold units and attachments.
  • Complete physical inventory and resolve discrepancies.
  • Ensure that all equipment and attachments are correctly marked with stock numbers.
  • Answer phone and direct calls.


Other Functions

  • Perform rental check-in and check-out using doForms (this includes getting in the machines to obtain the correct number of hours and fuel levels).
  • Back up for Administrative Assistant when needed.
  • Be able to safely operate a forklift to load and unload trucks when needed.
  • Assist with other duties assigned and directed by corporate management within the frame work of Murphy Tractor and Equipment Company, Inc.’s objectives.


Knowledge/Skills/Abilities

  • Intermediate computer skills including MS Windows, Word, Excel.
  • Strong knowledge of office machines, including copier, fax and printer.
  • Understand and operates within applicable policy, procedure, rules and regulations.
  • Ability to interact professionally with other employees, customers and vendors.
  • Ability to use interpersonal skills necessary in order to communicate and follow instructions effectively with a diverse group of employees, customers, and vendors to
  • provide information with courtesy and tact.
  • Listen effectively
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Tailors the content of speech and written communication to the purpose and receiver.
  • Ensure that regular, consistent communications take place with other employees as needed.
  • Ability to meet commitments and deadlines.
  • Complete required documentation and reports in a timely manner.
  • Ability to process work with accuracy.
  • Ability to organize and prioritize numerous tasks and complete them under time constraints.
  • Stay focused under pressure.
  • Identify what needs to be done and take action without being asked.

  • Maintain confidentiality in oral and written communications.
  • Demonstrates openness to new procedures, technology and structure.


Physical Requirements and Work Schedule 

Employee must be able to do occasional lifting of up to 30 lbs.


Education/Work Experience 

High school diploma or GED required. Two year degree from a college or school or at least three years related experience and/or training preferred.
