Our client is launching a new 90,000 sq. ft. copper wire manufacturing facility and seeking a hands-on Technical Operations Manager to oversee the installation, commissioning, and start-up of production equipment. This role ensures machinery is installed to spec, optimized for performance, and transitioned smoothly into full operations. Facility is located between Columbia, SC and Rock Hill, SC in an affordable, pleasant and rural residential area.
This position can be a project-based duration OR a role that transitions into one of the Key Management roles.

Key Responsibilities:
- Lead installation and commissioning of copper wire manufacturing machinery (drawing, stranding, annealing, extrusion).
- Direct contractors and technical teams on equipment alignment, calibration, and utilities integration.
- Oversee system testing, troubleshooting, and acceptance trials.
- Collaborate with engineering to optimize machine settings for quality and yield.
- Establish maintenance requirements, SOPs, and staff training.
- Ensure safety, performance, and production goals are achieved during ramp-up.
Qualifications:
- Bachelors in Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial Engineering (preferred).
- 7 years in equipment installation, commissioning, or plant engineering in manufacturing (wire/cable or metals preferred).
- Strong technical knowledge of industrial machinery, automation, and process controls.
- Proven leadership in troubleshooting electromechanical systems and managing technical projects.
- Commitment to safety and operational excellence.
