Responsibilities:
- Estimating Excellence: Prepare precise and competitive bids for structural steel projects, accurately calculating material quantities, labor costs, and equipment needs.
- Project Management: Oversee all aspects of assigned projects, including planning, scheduling, budgeting, and coordination with subcontractors and suppliers.
- Client Relations: Build strong relationships with clients, effectively communicating project details, addressing their needs, and negotiating contracts.
- Cost Management: Proactively monitor project costs, identify potential cost-saving measures, and ensure projects are completed within budget.
- Vendor Management: Source and evaluate reliable suppliers for materials, equipment, and subcontractors.
- Industry Expertise: Stay up-to-date with industry trends, standards, and best practices.
Qualifications:
- Proven Experience: Minimum 5 years of experience in structural steel estimating, with a strong background in performing take-offs and preparing quotes.
- Technical Expertise: In-depth knowledge of structural steel design principles, standards, and industry practices.
- Estimating Software Proficiency: Mastery of estimating software (e.g., On-Screen Takeoffs, Accubid).
- Analytical Skills: Exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities to evaluate project requirements and identify optimal solutions.
- Communication Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with clients, team members, and subcontractors.
- Leadership Skills: Ability to lead and motivate project teams, ensuring projects are completed on time and within budget.
- Existing Client Base: A strong network of existing clients in the structural steel industry is a significant advantage.
