Job Summary
The Project Controls Lead is responsible for implementing project controls systems and document management system for development projects for Murphy Oil Corporation.
This role will work in our Houston corporate office and may work up to two (2) days a week remotely.
Responsibilities
- Directs/coordinates/executes all aspects of project services including cost estimating, cost control, reporting, benchmarking and document control systems
- Provide cost management support for offshore drilling and completions team during execution
- Will manage a team of multifunctional project services staff (planner, cost estimator, cost control, document control).
- Prepares the Project Control Plan, Work Breakdown Structures and Cost Breakdown Structures.
- Establishes & continuously monitors the budget, commitments, expenditures, forecast final cost and schedule status.
- Responsible for project schedules updating and maintenance
- Responsible for overall WHO Development projects budget
- Contributes to improvement suggestions in software systems and projects process
- Manage document control interface between Murphy & vendors
- Lead liaison between Project Development group and Procurement for projects, assist with contract management, reviewing and evaluating RFQs and proposals.
- Implements a performance management process to provide clear information to the Project Development General Manager on overall project performance in all main areas of delivery; actual and forecast performance including cost, schedule and resources; establishes and manages the project risks and mitigations process; project issues and recommendations
- Oversees closeout activities with the ability to handle and prioritize multiple tasks such as partner and Murphy Audits, JIB/treasury questions and analysis, employee timesheets and reminder, checking codes used, and reporting labor expended both internal and external
- Bachelors degree required
- Minimum 15 years project controls experience in relevant oil and gas major projects environments
- In depth experience with offshore projects including subsea tiebacks and EPCI projects
- Proven experience with SAP along with excellent communication, teamwork, planning, and organizational skills
