Job Summary
The Staff Infrastructure Operations Supervisor is a key leader within the Infrastructure and Cloud Operations organization, responsible for designing, governing, and evolving scalable, secure, and resilient on‑premises, cloud, and hybrid environments. This role provides technical direction across enterprise infrastructure platforms while ensuring operational excellence, security compliance, and alignment with business strategy.
The position partners closely with application teams, security, finance, and executive stakeholders to modernize infrastructure, enable DevOps and platform engineering, and drive cloud adoption using strong governance, automation, and financial discipline.
The Infrastructure Operations Supervisor will work in our Houston Corporate office and may work up to two (2) days a week remotely, as business needs allow.

Responsibilities
Enterprise Infrastructure Architecture
- Design and govern scalable, resilient, and highly available on‑premises, cloud, and hybrid infrastructure architectures.
- Define enterprise standards for compute, storage, networking, identity, and platform services.
- Lead infrastructure modernization initiatives, including legacy data center optimization and cloud migration strategies.
- Lead Azure-first cloud architecture with governance across on‑prem and hybrid environments.
- Maintain and evolve Azure landing zones, subscription management, identity integration, and policy enforcement.
- Govern cloud platforms through established FinOps practices, ensuring continued cost transparency, optimization, and accountability.
- Partner with Finance and leadership to refine forecasting, budgeting, and chargeback/showback models.
- Ensure cloud services align with security, compliance, and operational standards.
- Oversee ITIL-based processes including incident, problem, change, and service level management.
- Partner with operations teams to improve reliability, availability, and mean time to resolution (MTTR).
- Define operational metrics and KPIs to measure infrastructure and cloud service performance.
- Drive infrastructure automation using Terraform, Ansible, CI/CD pipelines, and scripting (PowerShell, Python).
- Establish Infrastructure‑as‑Code standards and reusable modules across environments.
- Promote Git‑based workflows, version control, and automated testing for infrastructure deployments.
- Understand and participate in the implementation of secure network architectures, including SD‑WAN, VPN, ExpressRoute, and SASE.
- Apply Zero Trust principles, IAM best practices, and privileged access controls.
- Partner with Information Security to ensure regulatory compliance (SOX, audit, security controls) across infrastructure services.
- Define and maintain RTO/RPO targets for critical systems and platforms.
- Architect backup, recovery, and resilience strategies across on‑prem and cloud environments.
- Lead and coordinate regular DR testing and validation exercises.
- Enable DevOps and platform engineering teams through infrastructure platforms that support:
- Containerization and Kubernetes
- Observability, monitoring, and logging
- DevSecOps toolchain integration
- Help evolve infrastructure toward cloud‑native and self‑service consumption models.
- Govern infrastructure and cloud spend using existing FinOps frameworks and processes.
- Continuously optimize Azure and infrastructure costs through right‑sizing, lifecycle management, and demand planning.
- Manage vendor relationships, contracts, and renewals; enforce SLAs and performance metrics.
- Support financial planning activities related to infrastructure investment, modernization, and capacity planning.
- Define multi‑year infrastructure roadmaps aligned with business objectives and digital transformation initiatives.
- Translate business needs into technical strategies and execution plans.
- Influence enterprise decision‑making through architecture reviews and executive communication.
- Supervisory & People Leadership
- Lead and mentor infrastructure and cloud engineers; foster a high‑performance, collaborative culture.
- Conduct performance management, coaching, and career development.
- Plan workforce capacity, skills development, and succession.
- Communicate clearly with executives, technical teams, and business stakeholders.
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Minimum 15 years of progressive experience in infrastructure, cloud, or systems engineering roles with minimum 5 years in a leadership role
- 3 years of experience as a Cloud, Infrastructure or Network architect
- Deep experience with enterprise Windows/Linux environments, virtualization, networking, and storage
- Strong hands‑on expertise with Microsoft Azure (IaaS/PaaS); exposure to AWS and/or GCP
- Proven experience with Infrastructure as Code, automation, and CI/CD pipelines
- Strong understanding of enterprise security, identity, and compliance requirements
- Experience operating within ITIL‑based service management environments
Desired/ Preferred
- Bachelor’s degree in IT, IS, Computer Science with minimum 15 years of progressive experience in infrastructure, cloud, or systems engineering roles with minimum 3 years in a leadership role
- Cloud architecture certifications (Azure Solutions Architect preferred)
- Experience with Kubernetes, container platforms, and modern observability tooling
- Background in DevOps, platform engineering, or site reliability engineering (SRE)
- Experience leading teams or acting as a technical authority across multiple domains
