What are the responsibilities and job description for the Farmworkers & Laborers, Crop, Nursery, Greenhouse position at Murphree Seed Farm Inc?
Worker will be required to perform a variety of duties found in SOC Code 45-2092 Farmworkers and Laborers, Crop, Nursery, and Greenhouse such as: Participate in the inspection, grading, sorting, storage, and post-harvest treatment of crops including cleaning, blending, loading with forklift; Repair and maintain farm vehicles, implements, and mechanical equipment; Inform farm managers of crop progress; Operate tractors, tractor-drawn machinery, and self-propelled machinery (much of which is equipped with GPS) to plow, harrow and fertilize soil, or to plant, cultivate, spray and harvest crops such as corn, soybeans, oats; Load agricultural products into trucks without over or underfilling bed or trailer, and drive to market or storage facilities; Clean work areas including breakroom, office, restrooms and maintain grounds and landscaping by mowing, weed eating; Regulate conditions; Haul and spread topsoil, fertilizer, and other materials to condition soil; Repair farm buildings, fences, and other structures; Mix materials, dump solutions or seeds into planter or sprayer machinery; Attach implements using hand tools; Weigh containers and record weights and identifying information; Position boxes/bags at ends of machinery to catch products, remove and close full containers; File and keep records of farm operations; Speak and understand english.
