Middle School Adjustment Counselor

RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Support and monitor the social, emotional and behavioral progress of students.
- Provide prevention, intervention, and referral services for students with social, emotional and behavioral challenges.
- Meet with families and/or consult with external parties, such as child protective services and other service providers to bridge the communication gap with home and school.
- Interpret educational and medical evaluations.
- Conduct home assessments and support service plans with home and school to address attendance and other family issues that may be affecting a child’s academic, social, emotional growth.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Licensed, or eligible for licensure as a Social Worker, School Adjustment Counselor, or LMHC
- Master’s degree in Social Work or Counseling
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively and clearly with children and adults
- Knowledge of community and state agencies and programs for children and families.

Salary in accordance with the Agreement between the Winchendon School Committee and the Winchendon Teachers’ Association.
