Description
The Purchasing Specialist is responsible for the basic replenishment, re-buying, and managing of inventory. This position utilizes previous experience and judgment as a basis for planning and accomplishing goals in a variety of tasks. The Purchasing Specialist works under the general supervision of a Buyer. A certain degree of creativity and latitude is required.
As a Murdoch's Team Member in this role, you will...
- Assist the Buyers in all areas of merchandise procurement.
- Enter and transmit Purchase Orders into the system.
- Monitor purchase orders to assure timely and satisfactory delivery.
- Contact suppliers to expedite delivery, when necessary.
- Resolve any receiving or invoice discrepancies that may arise.
- Utilize sufficient writing/verbal skills to clearly communicate issues.
- Build relationships and maintain contact with stores and vendors.
- Other responsibilities as called upon.
Requirements

- Possess strong computer skills, especially working knowledge of Excel.
- Have excellent oral and written skills.
- Possess a 4-year degree in Business, Accounting or equivalent is preferred.
- Have a minimum of one year of previous related experience and/or training.
