About the opportunityMural is partnering with a global specialty chemical and polymer materials manufacturer that formulates polymer colorants and specialty additives used in automotive parts, packaging, appliances, and consumer products. We’re seeking a Quality Control professional who thrives on precision, communication, and hands-on lab work in a fast-moving manufacturing setting.
A day in the roleAt 5:30 AM you’re on the production floor, the go-to quality resource for operators and supervisors. You begin by reviewing the overnight batches and incoming raw materials queued for testing. Through the morning, you run standard QC methods, evaluate color against customer standards (your color matching know-how shines here), and decide if each batch meets spec—or what adjustments are required. You capture every result in SAP, keep supplier Certificates of Analysis in order, and verify that gauges and instruments are calibrated and behaving as expected. When a customer complaint or nonconformance surfaces, you contribute to the investigation and corrective actions. Throughout the shift, you model safe work practices, PPE use, and strong housekeeping. By 4:00 PM, the paperwork is complete, the lab is organized, and you’re off—Friday included, barring the occasional production exception.
What you’ll tackle- Execute routine quality tests on finished batches and on incoming raw materials to confirm compliance with internal and customer specifications
- Assess color and material attributes against customer-defined criteria; apply color matching expertise to guide decisions
- Partner with production to recommend and help implement adjustments for out-of-spec material

- Confirm proper calibration and function of gauges and test equipment
- Assist with complaint investigations and corrective action activities
