POSITION DESCRIPTION
POSITION: Assembly Team Member
DEPARTMENT: Assembly
REPORTS TO: Assembly Group Leader
FLSA / SALARY BAND: Non-Exempt - Production Wage Scale
Position Summary
Assembly Team Member is responsible for using a variety of hand & power tools, fixtures, work instructions, and test equipment to perform a series of operations to assemble/test side view mirrors correctly.
· Follow all safety rules, environmental rules, and ISO/IATF/OHSA requirements
· Ensure personal and associate awareness and understanding of ISO 14001 and IATF 16949 (includes ISO 9001) standards, and company policies and procedures
· Assure that work practices are in accordance with OSHA standards
· Keep work areas clean (5S) and organized
· Assure that all products are built to the highest standard of quality
· Collaborate with team members to maximize productivity and efficiency
· Reading and understanding instructions and assembling products, sub-assembly, and/or dandori
· Following the targets and deadlines for assembling product(s)
· Rotate through all the tasks required in a particular production process
· Creativity and an eye for detail
· Ability to problem-solve and communicate with the Team Leader
· Identify non-conforming material/process and proper handling of NCM parts (STOP, CALL, WAIT)
· Ability to work in and promote a team-based environment
· Perform all other tasks as assigned by Management
Qualifications (Education, Experience, Skills)
- 3 months of manufacturing experience preferred
- Effective communication skills, both oral and written
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as work instructions, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Must be able to follow directions, standardized work, and work instructions
- Must be able to visualize similar colors
- Able to solve basic mathematical problems
- Must have excellent work ethic and be dependable
- Must be able to work in a team or individually
- Daily attendance is an essential function of the position
- To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily
Physical Demands and Work Environment
While performing the duties of this job, the Team Member is frequently required to stand, walk, and reach with hands and arms. The Team Member is occasionally required to climb or balance and stoop, kneel, or crouch. The Team Member must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, and color vision. Expected daily job attendance is required for departmental needs.
