Summer internships run May–September (depending on school schedules) and are full-time, on-site in Mountain View and San Jose, CA.
Being a startup with a small team, breadth is extremely important and we expect this person to dive into thermal simulations, test, hardware identification, data analysis, and everything else associated with the full lifecycle of a spacecraft thermal control subsystem. Responsibilities
- Take ownership of or contribute to the design, analysis, documentation, and test of spacecraft thermal control subsystem and its components
- Propose and iterate on improvements for new and existing thermal hardware
- Write and monitor thermal tests to characterize performance
- Conduct analysis to support development and testing
- Experience with thermal test and analysis
- Test planning and execution, creation of slide decks, presentations, Google Sheets
- Coursework or relevant experience in several of the following: Thermodynamics, Numerical Analysis, Finite Elements, Software Engineering, Project Engineering
- Portfolio of example thermal design, analysis, integration, test work
- Previous internship or co-op experience
- Previous experience on technical project teams
- Experience with Thermal Desktop
- Understanding of physics and orbital mechanics
- Experience with thermal testing: development testing, component & system-level
