Duties
- Greet patients warmly and assist with check-in and check-out procedures using dental practice management software such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix
- Verify insurance coverage, perform insurance eligibility checks, and handle insurance verification processes
- Schedule appointments efficiently using electronic health record (EHR) systems like Epic, Meditech, or Athenahealth
- Collect payments, process medical collections, and manage billing activities including CPT coding, ICD-10/ICD-9 coding, and medical billing documentation review
- Maintain accurate dental records and ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations for patient confidentiality
- Answer multi-line phone systems professionally, providing excellent patient service and appointment coordination
- Manage medical administrative support tasks such as filing, data entry (including 10 key typing), and managing medical records
Requirements
- Proven experience in a dental office or medical front desk setting with strong knowledge of dental terminology and medical administrative procedures
- Proficiency with EMR systems such as Eaglesoft, Dentrix, or similar platforms; experience with Epic, Meditech, or Athenahealth is highly desirable
- Familiarity with insurance verification processes, medical coding (CPT, ICD-10/ICD-9), and Medicare guidelines
- Excellent computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite; ability to navigate multiple software platforms efficiently
- Strong phone etiquette, customer service skills, and ability to handle high-volume multi-line phone systems with professionalism
- Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and health information management standards to ensure patient privacy and data security
- Bilingual abilities are a plus to serve diverse patient populations effectively
- Previous clinic or dental office experience preferred; familiarity with dental terminology and clinic workflows is highly valued
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment while maintaining accuracy in documentation and scheduling tasks
