The Municipality of West Milton, Ohio, is seeking an experienced, service-oriented, and forward-thinking professional to serve as its next Municipal (Village) Manager. The Position
The Municipal Manager is the chief administrative officer of the Municipality and is appointed by and reports to Council. The Manager is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the municipal government, implementation of Council policy, long-term planning, and the effective delivery of municipal services. The Manager provides non-partisan, professional advice to Council and fosters a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement throughout the organization.
Key Responsibilities
- Direct and oversee all municipal departments, operations, and personnel in accordance with the
Charter, ordinances, and Council policy
- Implement Council-established goals, policies, and initiatives efficiently and in a timely
manner
- Appoint, supervise, evaluate, and discipline municipal employees and department heads in
accordance with personnel rules and professional standards
- Prepare and administer the annual operating budget and capital improvement program; monitor
fiscal health and long-term sustainability
- Keep Council fully informed of municipal operations, financial condition, major projects, and
emerging issues
- Attend all Council meetings and provide professional, objective recommendations while respecting
the policy-making role of Council
- Serve as the primary liaison between Council, staff, residents, and external partners
- Oversee multiple municipal projects simultaneously, ensuring adherence to timelines, budgets,
and performance expectations
- Enforce municipal ordinances, zoning regulations, and applicable state laws fairly and
impartially
- Represent the Municipality in regional, state, and intergovernmental meeting

- Knowledge of Ohio municipal law and council-manager governance preferred
- Valid driver’s license required
Compensation
Salary and benefits will be competitive and commensurate with experience and qualifications, in accordance with municipal policy.
Salary range $85,000 – $125,000 (negotiable).
