What are the responsibilities and job description for the FIRE ADMIN SERVICES ASSOCIATE - Range 11/F40 position at Municipality of Anchorage?
Open to the general public and any current Municipal employee.
This position is represented by the International Association of Fire Fighters (IAFF) - Local 1264 Union and is subject to the current provisions of the agreement between the Municipality of Anchorage and the IAFF Local 1264 Union.
DEPARTMENT: Anchorage Fire Department (AFD)
HOURS OF WORK: Monday-Friday (8-hour days)
LOCATION: 100 E 4th Ave
To be considered for employment, applicants must be legally authorized to work and accept employment in the United States. The Municipality of Anchorage is not able to provide any type of sponsorship, including Student Visas and Employment Visas, under any circumstances.
Provide administrative and clerical support for the Deputy Chief of Operations. Assist with a variety of clerical task including answering phones, assisting internal and external customers, processing work orders, maintain various internal tracking logs, and taking minutes at assigned meetings. Assist with editing and production of department publications, manuals, and guideline memos. Responsible for updating and maintaining various department databases including SharePoint, Training Tracker and Intellectual Property Intellgent Quotient (OpIQ). Update and maintain department staffing board; track position movement, update Training Tracker accordingly. Able to work and function in a stressful setting with little or no supervision. The ability to multi-task and adjust to an ever-changing environment is essential. Other duties as assigned.
High school diploma, GED, or equivalent, and five (5) years of office clerical experience, of which three (3) years must have been in advanced administrative and/or organizational type positions.
Valid State of Alaska Driver’s License with satisfactory driving record at time of hire.
Typing test at a net speed of 35 WPM at time of hire.
Data entry test at a net speed of 150 KSM at time of hire.
State of Alaska Notary within six (6) months of hire.
High proficiency using Microsoft programs including but not limited to Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint. High proficiency
using standard office equipment including various makes of computers, laptops, multi-line phone systems, fax and copy machines.

If selected for hire, appointment in this position will be conditional based upon the submission of a current copy of the applicant's Alaska driver's license and a current (dated within 30 days from date requested) copy of his/her Department of Motor Vehicle driving record, including a driving record from previous states if the Alaskan driver's license was first issued within one year prior to application, documenting an acceptable driving history.
