What are the responsibilities and job description for the ELEVATOR INSPECTOR - Range 26-115% / IBE position at Municipality of Anchorage?
: Open to any current Municipal employee within Development Services Department who is a member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW), Local 1547 Union.
This position is represented by the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers, Local 1547, and is subject to the provisions of the current agreement between the Municipality of Anchorage and the Union.
DEPARTMENT: Development Services
HOURS OF WORK: 7:00am-5:30pm
LOCATION: 4700 Elmore Road
To be considered for employment, candidates must be legally authorized to work and accept employment in the United States. The Municipality of Anchorage is not able to provide any type of sponsorship, including Student Visas and Employment Visas, under any circumstances.
Job Bid Process Instructions
In accordance with the current Collective Bargaining Agreement between the MOA and IBEW Local 1547,
ONLYcandidates who meet the minimum qualifications as identified will be forwarded electronically to the Chief Shop Steward (or designee).

: Graduation from high school
orGED equivalent.
Must possess a valid State of Alaska drivers license
andmaintain it for continued employment.
Qualified Elevator Inspector Certification (QEI) is required at date of hire.
Substitution
Elevator Inspector applicants who do not possess a current Qualified Elevator Inspector (QEI) certificate ma substitute
4years of documented journeyman elevator mechanic experience and obtain a QEI within
2years or current Municipality of Anchorage Inspector with a state of Alaska Electrician Journeyman Certificate of Fitness and obtain a QEI within
3years of date of hire or appointment.

- A copy of the printed official electronic application along with any required attachments as identified in the minimum qualifications. Candidates may obtain a copy of their official electronic application from the MOA's Employment Office.

- Delivered to the Chief Shop Steward or Assistant Shop Steward no later than 3:30 PM on the closing date shown on this announcement.
- NOTE: Candidates will not be required to attach items that are required at time of appointment/hire.
- An interview with the Job Bid Committee.
