Job Overview
We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) Manager to lead our safety initiatives across multiple job sites. In this vital role, you will develop, implement, and oversee comprehensive safety programs to ensure compliance with all relevant regulations. You will champion a culture of safety, conduct training sessions, perform inspections, and investigate incidents to promote a safe working environment for all employees.
Responsibilities
- Program Leadership & Field Support
- Own and manage the company-wide safety program for ~40 field employees
Compliance & Documentation
- Ensure compliance with OSHA and customer/client requirements
- Lead incident/near-miss investigations and corrective action tracking
- Develop and maintain safety policies, procedures, and documentation
- Create and review JHAs / JSAs, toolbox talks, and job-specific safety plans
- Support audits and client inspections, and maintain readiness for regulatory visits
Training & Culture
- Deliver ongoing safety training (new hire, annual refresher, task-specific)
- Build a strong safety culture based on accountability, professionalism, and practical field safety
- Coach supervisors and foremen to lead safety on-site
- Establish clear expectations and provide stop-work authority when conditions warrant
Metrics & Continuous Improvement
- Track and report leading/lagging indicators: incident trends, audit findings, training completion, corrective actions
- Support improvement initiatives aimed at reducing risk and improving customer satisfaction
- Maintain strong working relationships with operations, project leadership, and field crew
- Maintain a strong field presence: site visits, observations, coaching, and corrective actions
- Serve as the primary safety representative with customers, general contractors, and owner/client safety teams
- Participate in job walkdowns, planning meetings, pre-job risk reviews, and safety kickoffs
Qualifications:
- 10–20 years of safety experience, preferably in industrial contracting, construction, or similar heavy hands-on work
- Proven experience in manufacturing or construction environments with a strong understanding of OSHA standards and occupational health principles.
- Certifications in First Aid, CPR, OSHA safety training, and EPA regulations are highly desirable.
- Knowledge of workers' compensation law and report writing procedures related to workplace incidents.
- Ability to conduct root cause analysis effectively and develop actionable solutions.
- Excellent communication skills for delivering training & development programs and safety briefings.

Preferred Qualififications(Not Required):
- OSHA 30 (or ability to obtain quickly)
- OSHA 500/510, CHST, CSP (a plus)
- Strong experience with industrial sites (plants, refineries, utilities, etc.)
- Experience managing client safety programs, audits, and contractor prequalification systems
Pay: $125,000.00 - $150,000.00 per year
