Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled Low Voltage Technician to join our growing technical team. The ideal candidate will install, test, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain a variety of low voltage systems including security, access control, audio/visual, and data cabling for both commercial and residential sites.

This role requires a hands-on technician with strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to delivering high-quality work. Your expertise will ensure the safety, security, and operational efficiency of our clients’ facilities by working with cutting-edge technology in a fast-paced environment. This position offers an exciting opportunity to develop your skills in system design, field service, and technical support while contributing to the safety and security of diverse environments.

Experience Level: Entry-level and experienced technicians encouraged to apply. Pay is based on experience and skill level.

Travel Requirements: This position requires very frequent travel, including travel to other states. Candidates must be comfortable with extended travel, overnight stays, and working on job sites outside of Maryland as needed. Travel time and accommodations are provided in accordance with company policy.

Duties and Key Responsibilities

  • Install, configure, and troubleshoot low voltage systems including surveillance cameras, security systems, sensors, access control, audio/visual equipment, network cabling, and related technology.
  • Perform structured cabling, terminate, test, and label cables and connectivity infrastructure.
  • Wire and mount devices such as cameras, sensors, access points, control panels, and display equipment.
  • Read and interpret schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals to accurately complete system installations and repairs.
  • Troubleshoot system issues in a timely manner and communicate resolutions to clients and team leads.
  • Use hand tools and power tools safely to perform cabling, conduit bending, termination, and equipment mounting tasks.
  • Maintain detailed documentation of work performed, system configurations, and repair logs for compliance and future reference.
  • Maintain a clean and professional job site, adhering to safety and compliance standards.
  • Provide excellent customer service during installations and follow-ups.

Qualifications

Required:

  • Proven experience as a service technician specializing in low voltage systems or related electrical fields.
  • Strong knowledge of computer networking, system design principles, and telecommunication infrastructure.
  • Mechanical knowledge combined with the ability to work with various hand tools and power tools efficiently.
  • Knowledge of CCTV surveillance systems, IDS (Intrusion Detection Systems), sensors, fire alarm systems, security systems, and alarm system sales processes.
  • Ability to read schematics accurately and interpret technical drawings related to low voltage wiring and system layouts.
  • Experience working in on-site field service roles is highly desirable.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills with a proactive approach to troubleshooting complex security or communication issues.
  • Effective communication skills to coordinate with team members and clients while providing exceptional service.

Preferred:

  • Certification or training in low voltage technologies, network cabling, or related trade is desirable, but not required.
