Position Title: Attic Window Assistant Store Manager

Reports to: Store Manager

FLSA Classification: Hourly, Full time , Non-Exempt

MUNCIE MISSION PURPOSE STATEMENT: Our purpose, to the glory of God, is to provide compassionate Rescue services on an immediate and/or long-term basis to the poor and needy of East Central Indiana.

PROGRAM STATEMENT: As an outreach of the Mission, the Attic Window Stores actas a compassionate witness for Jesus Christ through the provision of low-cost clothing, furniture, household items, etc. to low-income individuals and families.

Essential Functions:

· Provide daily supervision, guidance and direction in all aspects of retailing at their particular store location.

· Attic Window Store, providing a “team-atmosphere” with clerks, Store Manager/ Senior Store Manager/Training Manager/Store Merchandiser, and all others involved with the success of MMM’s stores.

· Must have full knowledge of operating the cash register and the ability to train clerks in the same, immediately reporting problems to the Store Manager.

· Responsible for setting prices and the stocking of merchandise.

• Provide a clean, attractive showroom and a pleasant shopping experience for customers and Family Service clients (if applicable).
• Work with Store Manager/ Senior Store Manager/Training Manager Store /Merchandiser in staging and decorating the store and being advised of changes that would provide a more customer-friendly atmosphere.
• Make requests to the Manager/Senior Store/ Store Merchandiser for adequate merchandise to provide for a fully stocked sales floor.
• Will attend store personnel meetings and training sessions as called for.
• Must be available to work extra hours in the absence of store clerks.
• Use time keeping system properly.
• Other duties as assigned by management.

Necessary Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

· Must have a sincere love for the Lord and desire to see individuals come to a personal relationship with Christ and grow in Him.

· Must agree with the philosophy and policies of the ministry and be able to view this as a team ministry with a servant’s heart.

· And active affiliate or member of a church body with an ongoing affiliation or membership.

· Alcohol and drug free for a substantial period of time prior to immediate employment.

· Must be able to work independently.

Required Education/Experience:

· High school diploma or equivalent is required.

· Experience in retail sales and supervising people.

· Leadership qualities, good people and property management skill.

· Able to communicate effectively – both verbally and in written form.

· Ability to exhibit good decision making skills with the assigned task.

· Must be able to lift/carry up to 30 pounds

Background Investigation and Drug Testing:

• After a “conditional offer of employment” is made, the individual must pass a background investigation, which includes a consumer credit investigation report.
• Muncie Mission Ministries may request the successful applicant to submit to and pass a drug and /or alcohol test. This drug and/or alcohol testing may occur any time after the applicant receives a conditional offer of employment. All employees must sign and adhere to MMM Drug and Alcohol policy and remain free from addiction to drugs and/or alcohol.

Hours:

Generally Monday through Saturday, hours arranged by Director of Retail Sales and approved by President/CEO.

Attic Window Thrift Store Assistant Manager is an hourly – at will position.
