The Homeless Services Department's Business Services team is seeking a highly motivated and qualified internal staff to temporarily step into the role of Accounts Payable Supervisor through a Work Out of Class (WOC) opportunity. This is an exceptional chance to gain valuable supervisory experience, lead critical finance operations, and contribute to department-wide efficiency and compliance. In this role you will ensure accurate and efficient financial operations and be the subject matter expert of all accounts payable. Key Responsibilities

- Supervise a team of fiscal staff, providing guidance, support, and mentorship.
- Foster a positive and collaborative work environment.
- Conduct performance evaluations and implement development plans.
- Oversee daily operations and workflow.
- Ensure timely and accurate processing of invoices, payments, and reports.
- Maintain strong internal controls and ensure compliance with regulations.
- Manage vendor relationships and resolve invoice discrepancies.
- Stay up-to-date on relevant laws and regulations.
- Analyze workflows, identify inefficiencies, and recommend improvements.
- Lead quality improvement initiatives and implement new procedures.
- Promote a culture of continuous improvement within the team.

Minimum Qualifications/Transferable Skills
- A Bachelor’s Degree and three (3) to six (6) years of experience that demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the position OR equivalent transferable skills and experience of 7-10 years.

- Ability to work independently to achieve goals and collaboratively when needed.
- Extensive knowledge of accounts payable principles and practices.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
- Commitment to staff development and process improvement.
