MCSO is seeking a qualified candidate for a temporary summer position as a COLLEGE INTERN in our FTEP Unit. A position for a person that has a keen interest in learning about forward facing and behind the scenes criminal justice and public safety work in a full-service metropolitan Sheriff’s Office.
Job Description
The primary focus of this post would be learning about the fundamental training of new deputies, public safety in the community, mental health and crisis communications with people in custody, as well as research and planning in a public safety venue.

- Connect and unify existing presentations
- Update content for current trends and policy
- Exploring, recording and documenting MCSO History
- Creating singular reference resources
- Investigating and developing presentations about ‘Correction Fatigue’ and/or ‘Emotional Survival’ as wellness and resiliency topics
- Corrections facility operations
- Court Security operations and planning
- Tactical Team training
- Maritime Law Enforcement
- Mental Health Team and Mental Health Court
- Corrections Counselors
- Ability to pass a criminal justice records check
